I've been interested in photography since I was in my twenties. After purchasing a Sony mirrorless in 2016 I fell back in love with photography. About the same time I started photographing hummingbirds in my back yard in Ben Lomond, California. Since getting back into photography I've taken several trips, one of them was to Tanzania where I got the experience of photographing animals on a much larger scale than my hummingbirds.
I also volunteer at the Santa Cruz SPCA taking photographs of pets for their adoption website. I always enjoy the special moment where I can capture an expression of human or a wild animal.
Fast forward to 2021. With the COVID pandemic I started doing sports photography. I started out with surfing, then did some Indy racing at Laguna Seca. The skill to take hummingbird photos transferred easily to fast moving humans. I'm finding that humans appreciate a great photograph of themselves much more than the birds.
